Just looking at this thing makes me sleepy . . . ::yawn::

< >Er, Happy late Thanksgiving, America. I hope you ate a lot last night (I had my candied yams, so I was happy.) Anyway, onto quick site updates before I run out of the house and chase the family car down the street - apparently, we're leaving very shortly, with or without yours truly. I updated the J. K. Rowling section. Tweaked the bio and added a fifth page of pictures to the gallery. No, I don't believe I am a stalker.
< >I updated the Prisoner of Azkaban section with a nifty "Who Should Play Sirius Black & Remus Lupin" page. There's only one guy on it, but I'm willing to take suggestions for anyone besides Christian Bale and Ewan McGregor. I'm quite aware of who they are.
< >I didn't get around last night to coding many fics, but chapter four of The Spirit Room, "Left of Center," has been posted. In submitted fiction - and I'll do more in a few hours - Beanie's fic Angels in Waiting was posted.

< >Good to be back, everyone! This is going to be a rather large update. Sorry about the closure, but it had to be done, and hopefully it won't happen again. My good friend Jade Dragon of Wizardry-Realm has very nicely offered me some space on her server. Everybody hug Jo!
< >The reason I had to shut down is because of an overload of traffic and how many bytes were transferred. This is called bandwith and I have 40 gigabytes of it. That's a LOT, but I still go over, and that costs a lot of money. Unfortunately, I can't afford that, so I shut down before it happens. I'm dreadfully sorry for the inconvenience and thanks to all of you who sent letters of support, yelling at me to never shut down. I don't plan on it, though it may be a struggle. I am now, I believe, the oldest privately run Harry Potter website in existance and I plan to keep that title for a long time.
< >Alan Rickman is one of People Magazine's "Most Surprisingly Sexy" men of the year. You can see the article (though it's incredibly hard to find) and several others on Harry Potter - People is owned by AOL TimeWarner, what do you expect? - in the December 2 issue, which is already out. Parents may want to watch out, though, because right behind the Harry Potter articles are all the Victoria's Secret pictures. Still, Alan's pretty sexy himself. ;-)
< >Updates will come this weekend - including Spirit Room and other fan fiction! I'm off school Thursday and Friday, so I'll update then. I received a great honour from Harry Potter Canada the other day. Four awards! Best Webmistress, Most Content, Best Fan Fiction, and Best Info Resource. ::sniffs and hugs the HPC people:: I feel incredibly special now. By the way, if you didn't notice, I have a mailing address! You are welcome to send in fan art that I will happily scan or send me a note. The address is:

Gypsy Silverleaf
P.O. Box 861
Alta Loma, California 91701-0861

< >The forum now has almost 800 members. ::faints:: Also, just a reminder, if you want to help keep HPRealm going, buy stuff from my Harry Potter store. I receive a small commission and every penny of it pays a part of my bill.
< >As a final thought, I like a good man in drag and you will, too (I'm kidding). Here's a recent picture of Daniel Radcliffe in a stage production: [picture]

< >Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with a total of about $87.7 million, is now the third best weekend-opening movie of all time, directly behind Sorcerer/Philosopher's Stone and Spiderman. Dang, people, and it was a better movie! C'mon, go to the theatres right now and see COS (again)! Just kidding, really.
< >I updated submitted fan fiction with two - count 'em, TWO - fanfics. I really suck, I know. Cedar's Marauder fic, Iscariot, and Little Alex's lovely Draco/Harry fic, Maple Tree. Both are PG and very good.
< >Lastly, everyone go check out Harry Potter's School Song by Mark Davis. I love it and please call your radio stations to request it! I want to hear it on the radio! Don't you?

November 15, 2002 9:25 AM
< >Well, that was just entirely scary and incredibly fun! I just finished speaking about Chamber of Secrets on John Gormley Live, a radio talkshow in Canada. If you heard it, great! I am now rushing off to school where, thankfully, my English teacher could have cared less if I appeared for my test or not once I told him about the interview. He even said I should have done it from his classroom. ;-)
< >Anyway, enjoy the second movie everyone. It comes out today! I'd love to hear what you think, so E-mail me or visit the message boards!

November 15, 2002 1:31 AM
< >Ah ha! I finished my Chamber of Secrets movie review and it's posted! I'm happy. And I'm seeing the movie again, in about nineteen hours. Yay! ::looks at Rupert and Emma:: Don't stay in Los Angeles, come to the Inland Empire and invade our theatres! ::evil grin::
< >For those of you not going to see the second Potter film tonight, A&E is re-playing their biography of J. K. Rowling. It's interesting and may help you get through the night! ;-) Thanks to Lupin's Favourite Flea for the info. See the rest of you at the movies, hopefully in costume or adorned with something Harry Potterish!

November 10, 2002 2:08 PM
< >I'm sorry guys, but I haven't gotten a review up yet. Eep! I will soon, though. Just go have fun with the halfway-spoilerish actor analysis and the new Emma Watson Picture Gallery I just put up. Also, I have the four articles that came out today in Los Angeles and surrounding areas about Harry Potter! (all writren by Glenn Whipp)

  • 2nd 'Potter' Installment Could Be Creepy
  • She's More Wild About Harry II
  • Wish Upon a Wizard
  • Going Potter

    November 9, 2002 12:13 AM
< >Well, seeing as I finished my actor/actress analysis of Chamber of Secrets, I saw no reason in me sitting on it until Sunday afternoon. It's in the Chamber of Secrets movie section and I have also posted it at Fiction Alley Park, but it isn't as complete as the one on HPRealm. There are spoilers, so you can't tell me I didn't warn you. Enjoy! My actual review will be out Sunday.

    November 7, 2002 9:44 PM
< >Again I am stalling on homework (::gasp:: an essay!) to update. Hehe, anyway, Zap2it has an amazing 360-degree photo of the greenhouse seen in Chamber of Secrets. It's really nice, since in the film you don't get to see much of it because all of the kids are crowding the room. Remember, Sunday I will posting my analysis of the movie!

    November 5, 2002 8:05 PM
< >I did see Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets last night. So I don't spoil the movie, I'll only say this: it is better than Sorcerer/Philosopher's Stone. I'll probably post an analysis Sunday (with sufficient warnings), because that's when the Potter article including me in it comes out. I'll get a link to that up, as well.

    November 2, 2002 11:40 PM
< >On Monday, November 4th, I will be seeing Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I'm incredibly lucky to have this chance and I've been bouncing off the walls for well over two weeks now. I'll probably actually write a review this time and I'd like to know if you guys would like to read it on the day of the actual debut of the movie, or a few days in advance. Give me your feedback!
< >By the way, Schnoogle.com finally got up chapter three of my fic, Spirit Room, so feel free to review there. It's rated R and is very violent for the first few chapters, which happen to be the only ones posted. For those who can legally read it, please review. :-)
< >I want to mention I saw one little boy dressed as Harry Potter on Halloween, and although he didn't have a scar, I very nearly glomped (glomp=to hug enthusiastically) him. :-)

< >::looks ready to kiss Christopher Lee:: Thank you, if you ever read this, for the statement you made today. I've been angry enough at people wondering, "Who's going to replace Richard Harris?" without really caring that a great man died. It shows you the arrogance and indifference of many Harry Potter fans. I'm not shoving the blame on anyone reading this, but just note that stuff like that has been going on for the past week and it's incredibly sad.
< >"In view of the ever increasing speculation about the possibility of me playing Dumbledore in the next Harry Potter film, I wish to make it totally clear that at no time have I ever been approached to play this part. The quote in some newspapers "That I was approached 3 years ago and turned it down" is completely untrue. The situation has never arisen and in view of the fact that Richard Harris has only been dead for a few days, it would be inappropriate and distasteful for me to make any further comment." -- Christopher Lee
< >Thanks to my good friend JadeaDragon for this quote, which can be found at Christopher Lee's official site.
